Swiss company to compete in the heavy electric trucks market

The Swiss conversion specialist, E-Force One, will be presenting its first heavy electric truck at the Transport-CH trade fair in Bern in November. The E44 is designed for gross weights of up to 44 tonnes. So far, the provider from Fehraltdorf near Zurich has focused mainly on the electrification of distribution trucks. E-Force-One expects ranges of 200 to 300 kilometers for the new vehicle segment.

Four battery sizes are available on the E44

Customers can choose from four battery sizes, as Business Development Manager Flavio Cueni told the trade magazine trans aktuell. The services range from 120 to 310 kilowatt hours. The first E44 goes to an existing E-Force One customer. “In early 2018, it will be put through its paces with the customer for a year, then it will be owned by the customer,” says Cueni.

In March, the 747 hp vehicle completed its maiden voyage, in summer, the first test drives took place. The E-Force One executives take a positive view of these trials. Even tests in the steepest terrain presented for battery and the remaining drive train no problems, they say.

E-Force One at Transport-CH at the Iveco booth

As for its presence at Transport-CH from 16 to 19 November, E-Force One will be present at the Iveco booth (Hall 3.2, Booth B006). The proximity to Iveco is related to the fact that it is the vehicles that the Umrüster electrifies. Visitors will have the opportunity to test 18-tonne E-Force One outdoors.
